Our founders have a collective 60 years in and around the real estate industry. One day, they got a call from someone wanting to sell a parcel of land in Cedar City, UT. The person gave all the right information and even produced a copy of the owners' California drivers' licenses when asked. But something didn't feel right. After a background check, our founders were able to find the REAL owners, who said they were definitely not trying to sell, and put a stop to the fraud. But the story could have ended very differently. The owner asked them, 'What can I do so this never happens again?' They looked into it. Local Realtor and government organizations, local police, and even federal law enforcement didn't have any answers. At best, there were monitoring services- but those would only trigger AFTER fraud occurred. We believed there should be a way to block fraudsters before they even get a chance to begin, and so we founded Real Property Vault.
